Lieve Jongens

28 06 07 - 16:30 On the last day of our stay in Ghana, we still had a few meetings. Arnon Office never closes, we work 24/7.
The Centre for Conflict Resolution (Cencor) is run by former Lt. Gen. Arnold Quainoo, a man with a big heart and matching condition. He is also a man with great ideas and little money. We couldn’t find out what conflicts he had resolved so far, but decided not to fight over it.

The appointment with the NPP the day before yesterday did not go through, but now they suddenly had time. On arriving at their headquarters they were surprised and made clear they couldn’t see us, yet again. The General Secretary Nana Ohene-Ntow asked us for papers, clearance, letters, appointments, maybe names and addresses too. We couldn’t produce any of this and left empty-handed. Well, not completely empty-handed, he gave us a firm handshake. In saying goodbye, I asked him if he had confidence in next year’s elections.
-Very much so!
-Can I quote you on that?
-Yes, you can, very much so!

Lunch was nice. We all behaved ourselves for a change.

On the streets you can buy anything and everything in Accra. Thousands of people carrying tens of thousands of articles around. Timme opted for the banner of his Saviour so to always remember Anthony by. Gebruikte Tags: ,
